LCDA is a not-for-profit club and was formed in 1992 by dog lovers who wanted to pursue the new sport of dog agility.
We are active in the community, participating in local pet festivals sponsored by the SPCA and other like organizations. We offer training classes to the general public to promote responsible dog ownership and hold AKC Canine Good Citizen Tests at the completion of each session.
LCDA became sanctioned by the United States Dog Agility Association (USDAA) in 1996 and held the first USDAA dog agility test in SC in November 1997. As a club, we have gone from strength to strength and for the past 7 years have held 2 agility tests per year at the Palmetto County Island Park in Mount Pleasant. For more information on our agility tests; view our Events page.
Club Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month. In addition to taking care of club business, we invite guest speakers to our meetings to talk on subjects of interest, such as canine nutrition, grooming, health issues. Guests are always welcome to attend the social and speaker portions of our meetings. Please contact our Membership Chair or telephone (843) 720-8021 for information about our next meeting.
